State Champs Extreme Weather Schedule Changes 2024

Due to the high temperatures forecast across the three days of State Champs competition with the most extreme being Saturday, the decision has been made to postpone Saturday’s competition in full and reschedule it to the following Saturday March 16, with the same start time of 10am. Sunday and Monday’s competition will be retained and brought forward for a commencement time of 8am each day.

Montag on the Move at 2024 Australian 20km Race Walking Championships

World Championships silver medallist Jemima Montag will chase her sixth consecutive title at the 2024 Chemist Warehouse Australian 20km Race Walking Championship this Sunday, leading a charge of the world’s fiercest competitors in Adelaide and marking an important step in her bid for Olympic gold in Paris.

Larsen Athletics Scholarship

ASA is pleased to announce a partnership with the Larsen Athletics Scholarship to support athletes with the cost of training and competing in athletics.  Scholarships are awarded to athletes aged 14 to 21 to assist with the costs of registration, training access fees, uniforms, travel and equipment.  Scholarships up to $1,000 are available. 

Middle-Distance Masterclass Bound for Adelaide Invitational | Women's 800m

Australia’s premier middle-distance women are set to launch their dreams of a Paris Olympic berth with an 800m showdown at the Chemist Warehouse Adelaide Invitational, headed by national record holder Catriona Bisset and a roll call of stars to challenge the champion including Abbey Caldwell.

2024 State Combined Event Championships

Pembroke’s Christine Gayen won her eighth consecutive Open Women’s Heptathlon with a personal best score of 5,183, finishing ahead of teammates Maya Lange (4,035 points) and Ruby Sulicich (3,528 points), who finished in second and third respectively.  Gayen would start off strongly, recording a PB of 12.21 metres in shotput, alongside a time of 14.74 in the 100m hurdles (a PB in a heptathlon) to finish Day 1 with 3079 points. Gayen would then carry this form into Day 2.

2023 Chemist Warehouse Australian All Schools Athletics Championships Recap

From the 8th to the 10th of December, South Australian athletes represented the state at the 2023 Chemist Warehouse Australian All Schools Athletics Championship. The team, led by captains Gman Paye and Amelie Burge, finished with a total of 32 medals, including 10 Golds and a number of PBs.
