New Club Application - Sunraysia Athletics Club
Published Mon 05 May 2025
Mildura and District Little Athletics Centre has applied for affiliation with Athletics SA
The interest in athletics continues to grow and the investment in facilities for our sport is set to continue. Clubs in South Australia and interstate have enjoyed a successful 2024-2025 season with numerous clubs welcoming new members.
Mildura and District Little Athletics Centre (MDLAC) is currently affiliated with Little Athletics SA and was last affiliated with Athletics SA in 2018-2019 and they have applied to engage again this year. MDLAC has an exciting, bold ambition along with their local council to secure funding to build a synthetic track in Mildura, on their current site, and development of a senior club as part of a ‘new’ One Club to be called Sunraysia Athletics Club will help them achieve this.
For over a decade, MDLAC has been working towards having a high-quality synthetic track to replace their grass track and detailed design and feasibility studies have now been completed. The new track will have facilities and markings to suit adult membership.
Athletics SA invites comment from affiliated clubs, other organisations or individual persons in relation to the application, the details of which are shared below. The Board of Athletics SA shall consider all comments received and make a determination as to whether to accept the application for affiliation or not. The Board may seek additional information before making such a determination. The full policy for Acceptance of a New Club at Athletics SA can be accessed on our website here: https://www.athleticssa.com.au/about/constitution-and-policies
