How It Works
In order to compete in competitions organised by Athletics SA (with the exception of fun runs), participants must first register with Athletics SA and one of its member clubs. Registration occurs annually and the transaction incorporates both Athletics SA registration fees and club registration fees. More specific information about registering with Athletics SA can be found in the Register menu tab.
Once registered, participants are provided with two registration numbers that must be attached to the participant’s competition uniform during competition (front and back). For most events, being registered entitles participants to free entry to regular competition. Some events incur additional charges such as the state championships for example.
There are many forms of competition organised by Athletics SA including events such as the weekly Premiership Cup Competition, the Adelaide Airport Invitational, State Championship events, winter road and cross country events, and walking events. Each of these events may have different registration and entry procedures associated with them, so it is important to check the details for the specific event that participants intend on entering. In general, events like the Premiership Cup competition simply require on the day registration, whereas championship event entry deadlines are generally two days or more prior to the start of the event.
