The Club System

Athletics South Australia operates under a club system. Clubs are therefore central to the operations of Athletics SA. There are currently 15 clubs affiliated with Athletics SA and a number of specialist organisations and associations that are also affiliated. Participants are able to compete for affiliated clubs in regular competition.

Athletics SA clubs offer a number of activities and services to their members, including the provision of training facilities, coaching services, social functions, and general support of club members. There are many clubs scattered throughout metropolitan Adelaide and some in regional South Australia, such as the provincial town of Mount Gambier in the South East. Clubs can vary considerably, so please use the Club Directory (located under the Clubs menu) to contact your local club or alternatively, you can contact Athletics SA on 83543477.

A large number of Athletics SA clubs also have close links with local Little Athletics Club, which is important for assisting in the transition of young athletes through the sport.

We invite you to explore what Athletics SA’s clubs can offer you in helping to support your athletic endeavours.
