For the Love of Running – Jess Trengove’s Olympic Journey
As the world awaits the start of the track and field program today at the 2012 Olympic Games, Athletics SA’s Jessica Trengove is preparing for Sunday’s marathon around the streets of London. It’s been an amazing journey for the happy-go-lucky girl from Naracoorte and even Trengove must have to occasionally stop and pinch herself just to check that it’s all real! Trengove’s brave marathon performance in Japan in March, which produced a surprise Olympic A-Qualifier, changed her life forever. From the media frenzy that quickly swelled out of control after the official announcement of her selection to the wonderment she experienced at the Olympic Games opening ceremony, Trengove has handled it all with a beaming smile. As Jess Trengove prepares for the biggest race of her life, Run for Your Life Magazine (R4YL) have been kind enough to allow Athletics SA to reproduce a feature article on Trengove written by Athletics SA Executive Director, Adam Bishop.
