Everyone has a responsibility to ensure that all individuals, including children within our community are treated with respect, dignity, whilst be protected from bullying discrimination, harrasment or abuse.

Athletics South Australia have adopted the National Integrity Framework with the following policies in place.

Working With Children Checks

The Child Safeguarding SA Addendum requires all individuals 'working or volunteering with children in South Australia to have a valid Working with Children Check prior to commencing working with children and young people'.

If you have already completed a check and have this capcity within your club, please email the results of the check to admin@atheticssa.com.au and the relevant person within your club.

Please see the steps below to obtain a Working With Children Check;

Obtaining a DCSI – Working With Children Check

  1. To start the application please click on the following link – https://screening.sa.gov.au/applications/application-information-for-individuals.
  2. Click the “apply for a check” button and then follow the prompts with your details accordingly.
  3. Individuals should reference “Athletics SA” as the role description.
  4. Tick the “Working with Children Check” box under the screenings required and ensure you select “Volunteer” as the applicant type.
  5. An email will then be sent to you which will have a link, click the link and continue filling in the application.

Once you have received the results they will need to be submitted to Athletics SA – please email them to admin@athleticssa.com.au

Reporting Procedure 

Step 1: If a person is in immediate risk or danger, call Police on 000.

Step 2: If you have reasonable grounds to suspect a child has been or is at risk of being harmed, call the police and/or relevant child protection agency in your state/territory.

Step 3: Report all relevant information to the appropriate person within your club/sport.

Step 4: Report any potential breach of this Policy to Sport Integrity Australia via the online form at www.sportintegrity.gov.au.

In an emergency, always call 000.
