State Relay Championships

The Saints Athletics Club dominated the podium at the State Relay Championships, which were held at the Bridgestone Athletics Centre on Saturday afternoon.

Saints won 20 State Titles on the Track, nine more than the next best performers - the Flinders Athletic Club with 11 and Western with six.

Across the Field Relays Saints were again strong, equalling Tea Tree Gully with seven State Titles, with the next best club Northern Districts with three Titles over the Jumps and Throws Relays.

Aidan Murphy - who recently represented Australia at both the World Athletics Championships and World Athletics U20 Championships - made his return to SA competition on Saturday, helping his Saints club to two Track Titles.

Murphy teamed up with Joshua Love, Jacob Aston and Michael Brusnahan to win the Open Men's 4X100m Relay in 41.19, and with Jack Doney, Thomas McClure and Dylan Stenson to claim the 4X400m Relay in 3:15.91.

The Saints Open Men also won the 4X200m and Swedish Relays, and the Open Women's 4X200m, 4X400m, 4X800m and Swedish Relays, while also claiming wins across the Men's and Women's U14, U16 and U18 Track Relays.

Always strong on the Track is Flinders, who showed particular dominance across the Junior and O35/O50 events.

Flinders claimed the Women's U18 4X100m, 4X200m and Swedish Relay Titles, as well as the Women's U14 4X100m, 4X800m and Swedish, Women's O35 4X800m, Men's U16 4X400m, 4X800m, Men's O35 4X800m and Men's O50 4X800m.

Flinders also won the Open Men's 4X800m Relay. 

As expected SA Masters was strong across the O35 and O50 age group, winning the Women's O50 4X100m, 4X200m and 4X800m, and the Men's O35 4X400m.

In the Field, Tea Tree Gully and Saints were the two standout performers, combining for 14 State Titles.

Saints claimed the Men's U14 and Open Jumps, the Women's U14 and U16 Jumps, the Men's Open and U14 Throws, and the Women's U14 Throws.

Tea Tree Gully won the Men's O35 and U16 Jumps, the Women's U18 Jumps, the Men's O35 Throws and the Women's Open, O35 and U16 Throws.
