The 2022 Australian Cross Country Championships are officially ONE MONTH AWAY.

South Australia's Oakbank Racecourse in the Adelaide Hills is set to host the 2022 Australian Cross Country Championships on Saturday, August 27, which is a huge boost for local runners who will get the chance to partake in the National Championships on a home course for the first time in 10 years.

Event Timetable and Age Groups

This year's Australian Cross Country Championships will prove important for athletes with the 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships to be held in Bathurst, NSW in February next year.

2022 State Cross Country Championships - Saturday, July 30

This Saturday afternoon's State Cross Country Championships at Adelaide's Victoria Park is a vital event in the lead up to the 2022 Australian Cross Country Championships, with it being a selection trial for the SA team.

Registrations close tomorrow night (Thursday, July 28 at 11:45pm) - there is no late registration for State Championship events.

Athletics SA will select a team of athletes in the U14, U15, U16, U17, U18, U20 and Open Age Groups (including Para athletes) to participate in the 2022 Australian Cross Country Championships.
- Nominate for the Athletics SA State Team here - Nominations Close Friday, August 5, 2022.
- Those who wish to represent Athletics SA at the 2022 Australian Cross Country Championships must participate in the 2022 State Cross Country Championships at Victoria Park on Saturday, July 30. This will be the main selection trial for Athletics SA's team, while past performances will also be taken into account.
- If you can't participate in the State Championships but are still interested in TEAM SA selection, nominate through the same portal and send an appeal to pathways@athleticssa.com.au by August 5
- Those who wish to represent Athletics SA at the 2022 Australian Cross Country Championships must have taken out a 2021/22 Athletics SA Membership.

School Sport SA has selected its team of athletes in the U10, U11, U12, U14, U16 and U18 Age Groups (including Para athletes)
- Athletics SA's Cross Country 2 event at Botanic Park on Saturday, July 16 was a selection trial for the School Sport SA team, along with the 2022 School Sport SA Cross Country Championships (which were held in Oakbank on June 9). Those who finished in the top 20 within their age group were invited to the selection race on July 16.
