2022-23 Track and Field Summary

A total of 122 respondents (a 59% increase from last year) ranging from various clubs, ages, gender and involvement with Athletics SA were recieved. Due to the nature of the responses for each question (e.g., Rating or Comment), there is a mix of graphs and notes which have been put together to show the common themes of the responses from the survey.   

Please find some key findings below:

Members were confused about the ‘best’ option for them in regard to membership and have provided feedback they would like more education and graphics to gain a better understanding. There was also confusion in relation to the junior memberships as members did not know the best option.

The four most common words respondents used to describe the Athletics SA brand were; fun, community, athletics and competitive 

There was mixed feedback regarding the timing of the events, as some respondents found Friday nights difficult to compete, due to other commitments earlier in the day. Whereas another group prefer Friday night competitions as it is ideal conditions and not in the heat of the sun.  

A positive theme was respondents saw improvements compared to previous years and enjoyed the session options for field events as it could suit their availability. However, athletes struggled to get into certain sessions due to high demand.  

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete the survey, we have taken all responses on board and are using them to improve upon for this coming Track and Field Season in 2023-24!
