The Board of Athletics South Australia would like to announce the resignation of current Chief Executive Officer, Adam Bishop, as at the 29 June, 2018.
Adam has been with Athletics SA since September 2008, and has been a continued asset to the organisation. Adam has been integral in leading Athletics SA through numerous changes and phenomenal growth in revenue, programs, events, staff, participation, membership, partnerships, and marked improvements in governance, collaboration and the culture of the sport in South Australia.
Adam has been on a sixth month secondment to Athletics Australia since January 2018 as the High Performance Director, and has thoroughly enjoyed this new experience. Although the decision to leave Athletics SA was difficult for Adam, he is excited for the new opportunities that present themselves in Victoria. At the completion of his secondment, Adam will be taking up a new senior role with Athletics Australia, and will responsible for working with the State and Territory member associations to drive key priorities, including growing the sport and engaging with the athletics community through programs and products.
On behalf of the Athletics SA community, the Board would like to congratulate Adam on his tremendously successful (nearly) 10 years at Athletics SA, and wish him good luck for his future endeavours. Athletics SA will be organising a farewell celebration for Adam in late June.
Details of the backfill of Adam’s role will be made known to the athletics community in due course. Please contact Bridget Senyszyn, the current Acting Chief Executive Officer, for any questions in Adam’s absence.
