Jane Russo has been elected Chair and President of Athletics South Australia by the Board at it's December meeting after being elected to the board at the November AGM. Current Finance Director, Andrew Tickle was elected as Vice President and David Cross will take up the position of Finance Director.
Jane Russo currently works as the principal at Enabling Solutions where she provides advice and support to organisations assisting them to lead meaningful change by providing engagement, partnering and governance consulting services. She is an enabler who specialises in providing independent advice, to help trouble shoot, upskill and build capacity within organisations.
Jane’s experience encompasses education, youth, tertiary pathways, government, health, community services, volunteering and sport. Her expertise as an engagement practitioner, project manager, stakeholder relations consultant and senior policy adviser has been utilised within various South Australian government departments.
A passionate volunteer, Jane chairs the South Australia’s Touch Football State Operations Advisory Committee having served seven years as a director on Touch Football Australia’s board. She is also a board director of Sport SA and is currently SA’s Touch Football Men’s Assistant Coach. She is a graduate of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the renowned Leaders Institute of South Australia Governor's Leadership Foundation Program.
Jane is a committed advocate for effective governance, collaboration, inclusion and diversity, women’s leadership, grassroots participation, and leading change where outcomes benefit the community. During 2017 Jane was a mentor for South Australia’s Sport and Recreational Women in Sport Taskforce’s Mentoring Program.
Jane's election as President makes Athletics SA one of only 15 (out of 76) SA Sport and Recreation organisations supported by the Office for Recreation and Sport that has a female President.
Jane is looking forward to working closely with the South Australian athletics community to continue the strong growth the sport is currently experiencing.
